Martien Verheyden

M10's jewellery is a combination of modern, ‘sleek’ and romantic.

The philosophy is originality and exclusivity. The jewellery is unique in a piece or made in small quantities. In Amsterdam by M10 her own hands. M10 loves natural materials such as pearls and (semi)precious stones. She only works with real gold and silver. She also has a preference for old silver coins.

‘Guldnes’ (guilders) and ‘Rijksdaalders’. The story behind this is that Martien has been a toilet lady for years in Amsterdam's nightlife. When everybody paid with Guilders, she heard the difference between a silver and a ‘regular’ coin. She collected the silver coins and turned them into jewellery.

M10 is always looking for contrast and opposites. Like Black and White, Love and Death. She does not like perfect symmetries. In many of her designs, you will find this thought. Like the Unique designs with a Rose (love) and a Skull (death).
An example of contrast is the Rose Ring. At first glance, it is a ring of a large Rose. You might think, love, a flower... but when looking further, the ring is completely massive and so heavy that you can hurt people heavily. Like hitting somebody’s head.

In 2007 Martien started her business; M10 Jewelry & Design.

She did a lot of Art fairs like “Sieraad Art Fair” (https://www.sieraadartfair.com/nl/) and Exhibitions all over the Netherlans, mostly Amsterdam.
Since 2021 she is connected to the WIHH Gallery.
