Francesco Carrasso (b. 1989, Bari, Italy) is a visual artist whose work strongly connects with the natural and urban landscape. Raised in the suburbs of Bari, Carrasso developed an interest in hip-hop culture and graffiti from an early age. These mediums allowed him to express and develop his artistic practice informed by a genuine relationship with nature.
At 18, he moved to Milan to attend the architecture course at ‘Politecnico di Milano’. In this period his capability of developing forms evolved in a new artistic attitude aiming at investigating the interaction between human bodies and other species.
In 2014 he moved to Amsterdam where he currently lives. He attended a course in landscape architecture at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture. This study course allowed him to further develop his interest and knowledge of architecture's relation to the landscape. His artistic practice saw the influences of these topics and the city of Amsterdam with its vibrant atmosphere.
Now he is following the architectural and artistic path from which he continuously gets inspiration. Mamt is a project that represents him the most: from the roots to the blossom that every day inspires him.
